Hi everyone,
I’m Daniel from Hackmann Hotels. We’re an owner-operated hotel group from the Emsland region, with locations in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. The group currently operates 9 hotels with 628 rooms and brings 39 years of experience in the hotel industry. In 2026, two more hotels with a total of 193 rooms will join the group. Each location is run by a hotel director and their team.
I wanted to share how we use umnify as our central automation platform and everything we’ve built with it. I think many people in the community aren’t yet aware of how much umnify can do beyond guest communication and CRM, hopefully this gives a helpful perspective.
We wanted to automate processes, but didn’t have the necessary programming expertise within our own team to implement the automations ourselves. When we reached out to umnify, they told us they could handle the automations we needed. By now, the team knows us so well that new automations can be implemented in a very short time.
We’ve implemented the most important automated and semi-automated processes in the front desk area. These include sending booking confirmations, registration forms, and invoices, assigning cleaned rooms on arrival, and routing rules for payment authorizations.
Some of our hotels are equipped with self-service check-in kiosks from Helloguest. For contactless check-in, guests need a Helloguest ID. Until a few months ago, we had to send these IDs manually by email, which was very time consuming.
To solve this, we integrated Helloguest with umnify. They built an interface that lets umnify retrieve the Helloguest IDs automatically. We then set up automated email workflows in umnify that make sure guests receive their Helloguest ID by email before arrival.
Since introducing this solution, more guests check in at the kiosk than at the front desk.
umnify is currently building a digital employee onboarding form for us. This should help reduce the manual effort involved in onboarding new team members.
Happy to answer any questions about our setup!
